Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy: “Lviv used to be a soccer Mecca of Ukraine.”

President of the soccer club “Ruh” noted the city’s role for Ukrainian soccer during the war

Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, the president of the Ruh soccer club, spoke about the great role of Lviv, that became a kind of capital of Ukrainian soccer after the invasion of Russian invaders, and also about the Ukrainian U-19 national team, which is preparing for the crucial matches of the European Championship in this city.

“Lviv was a soccer Mecca last year, but not everyone knew about it. Now it happened so we had to find out. Soccer should also have its own home, and I am glad that the Ruh soccer club and our club’s academy have become a home for players who have the desire and opportunity to train and develop. The more representatives of “Ruh” we have in the U-19 national team, the better chances we have to break through.

Seriously, the team is really strong and well-balanced, and it’ no wonder they got into the finals. The main thing is to let the guys show that they are Ukrainians, fighters, and the result will come. But the group is really hard. Honestly, the coaches are hard to envy. But the more difficult the group is, the easier it will be to win it,” Kozlovskyy said.

We remind you that the Ukrainian U-19 national team will compete with the Netherlands, Serbia and Norway in the elite round of qualifying for the European Championship in June.
