The Ruh Football Academy, led by club founder Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, is developing a new approach to training young footballers by combining sports science, medicine, digital technology, and artificial intelligence. In Lviv, the club held a conference titled “Sports Science at the Ruh Academy” at the press center of the Emily complex, sharing its experience with representatives of other leading Ukrainian football academies.
For Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, developing youth football is not only about preparing players for upcoming matches, but also about systematic work toward the future of Ukrainian sport. That is why Ruh invests in modern equipment, research into players’ physical development, and the improvement of training processes.

During the conference, club representatives explained how they use databases, artificial intelligence, and scientific methods to monitor players’ physical condition, plan training loads, manage recovery, and prevent injuries. Representatives of Dynamo, Polissya, and the Ukrainian Association of Football took part in the discussion.
Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy: Ukrainian Football Academies Must Grow Together
Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, founder and honorary president of FC Ruh, emphasized that the club aims not only to develop its own infrastructure, but also to share its expertise with other members of the football community. He believes that professional competition and the exchange of experience will help raise the level of training for young athletes in Ukraine.
“It’s encouraging that these clubs share a common goal and are working to create a great product — the proper and high-quality upbringing of children. In a few years, I hope people will talk about the football revolution we created, just as they once did in Belgium,” said Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy.
This approach means that football academies should not remain isolated in their own practices. On the contrary, cooperation between clubs, the exchange of knowledge, and the adoption of successful international practices can create the conditions for the comprehensive development of Ukrainian football, according to the club’s head.
Artificial Intelligence Helps Forecast Players’ Development
One of the key areas of work at the Ruh Academy has been the implementation of a sports science system that combines data on physical indicators, well-being, and players’ developmental progress. Artificial intelligence helps systematize this data and promptly provide the necessary information to the coaching staff, medical personnel, and club management.

According to academy representatives, the system already processes more than 250 indicators, and after new equipment is installed, this number is expected to rise to over 350. This will allow for a more detailed assessment of players’ potential, determining optimal training loads, and better planning their development.
FC Ruh pays special attention to young athletes, whose bodies are actively changing as they grow. Scientific research helps assess players’ physiological characteristics, tailor training loads individually, and reduce the risk of non-contact injuries.
Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy noted that developing these areas is part of the club’s long-term strategy. A modern academy should not only nurture talented footballers, but also create an environment in which every player receives the conditions needed for physical, professional, and psychological growth.
International Experience – the Foundation for New Solutions
In developing its sports science program, Ruh studies the practices of leading European academies. In particular, club representatives visited the training facilities of Germany’s Bayern and the Netherlands’ AZ, learning about their approaches to training young footballers and sharing their own expertise.

The club emphasizes that technology does not replace the coach, but helps them make decisions based on objective data. Combining professional experience, medical support, and analytics makes it possible to more accurately identify each player’s needs.
The initiatives supported by Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy aim to build a system capable of ensuring the stable development of footballers and enhancing the competitiveness of Ukrainian football. FC Ruh plans to continue holding conferences and professional discussions, sharing its experience with other clubs.
The “Heroes’ Cup”: Football in Support of Defenders
At the same time, FC Ruh’s activities encompass not only sports training and academy development, but also charitable initiatives. In October, the fourth charity football tournament “Heroes’ Cup” was held at the Emily Resort wellness complex, dedicated to the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. The event was initiated by FC Ruh together with its founder, businessman and philanthropist Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy.
Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy is a Ukrainian businessman, founder of FC Ruh and the club’s football academy, a philanthropist and benefactor who consistently supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine — together with his team, he regularly delivers drones, vehicles, and equipment to Ukrainian defenders at the front.
