Kozlovskyy and Matkivskyy: Ruh and Karpaty unite to make Lviv football stronger

The process of merging Ruh and Karpaty football clubs continues in Lviv. Ruh founder Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy and Karpaty owner Volodymyr Matkivskyy are convinced that this decision will be an important step for the development of Lviv football, ua-football.com reports.

During the gala event dedicated to the success of the Ruh Academy, Volodymyr Matkivskyy noted the club’s achievements in children’s and youth football and emphasized the importance of creating new opportunities for young athletes.

“I would like to join the warm words about the Ruh Academy, today’s champions. Indeed, the results of the teams in the context of infrastructure development are revolutionary things in children’s and youth football,” said Matkivskyy.

In his turn, Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy emphasized that the merger of the two clubs would create better conditions for the development of football in Lviv and strengthen the club’s competitiveness at the national and international levels.

“We have joined the efforts of the two clubs to become stronger, to create better conditions and to show the whole of Europe and the world that there is such a city, such people, such a team,” Kozlovskyy said.

In the 2025/26 season, the teams of the Ruh Academy became the champions of the Pro League in the U-14, U-15 and U-16 categories.
