AMATEUR PERIOD
The history of “Movement” dates back to 2003. Since that time, a football school has been operating in Vynnyky, where children studied the basics of football on a serious level. Graduates of the school in Vynnyky successfully played in the regional championship. The debut of “Movement” at the highest regional level was in 2010. Then, according to the coaches, it was not easy, because they had to play only with their own pupils.
Things became much more successful for the team when the famous philanthropist Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy became the president of the club. In fact, in the second season after Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy took care of the team, “Ruh” became the champion of the regional Premier League for the first time in its history. Then the team led by Roman Gdański won gold medals. For the next three seasons, “Ruh” did not give the championship to anyone. The victories of “Ruh” in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 meant repeating the record of “Yavor” from Yavorov, who won the championship of Lviv Oblast in 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998. In addition to four consecutive championships, “Ruh” became the winner of the Cup of the Lviv region three times (2012, 2014, 2015), the winner of the Super Cup of the region (2013), the winner of the memorial of the most successful coach in the history of the Lviv “Karpaty” Ernest Yust (2012, 2013, 2014).
On October 17, 2014, the “Ruh” football club became the champion of Ukraine in football among amateur teams for the first time in its history. In the final of the tournament, which took place in Vinnytsia, “Ruh” beat AF “Pyatikhaska” from the village of Petrovy, in the Kirovohrad region, with a score of 1:0. The only goal in this match was scored by striker Oleg Sheptytskyi. Also, in 2013 and 2015, “Ruh” became a finalist of the championship of Ukraine among amateurs, thus becoming the only team in history that played in three finals in a row. On more than one occasion, the Vinnytsia “Movement” “thundered” all over Ukraine by inviting titled footballers to its ranks. In addition to many players who at one time played at the highest level not only in Ukraine, but also in various international clubs, former players of Dynamo Kyiv – Oleksandr Aliyev and Maksym Shatskykh – played for Ruh.
Farewell to amateur football, which took place on July 20, 2016, was marked by “Ruh” with a rout, winning the first preliminary round of the Cup of Ukraine over “Hirnyk” from Sosnivka (3:0). Oleksiy Omelchenko, Roman Ivanov and Oleg Sheptytsky scored goals. The Vinnytsia team officially debuted in the second league on July 24, 2016. And she also distinguished herself with a rout, declassing “Illichivets-2” from Mariupol (6:0). Oleksiy Omelchenko (twice), Andriy Kikoty, Svyatoslav Kozlovskyy, Oleh Sheptytskyi and Borys Barants scored goals. In general, “Ruhivtsi” started the professional championship with 6 victories in a row, which immediately outlined their reputation as the favorite of the season. As a result, in the tournament table, the players of the Vinnytsia team finished 2nd (32 matches, 23 wins, 5 draws, 4 losses, goal difference – 68-24, 74 points), conceding to the leader – Odesa “Zhemchuzhina” – by 2 points. Thus, “Ruh” won a ticket to the First League of Ukrainian football right from the start. In the Ukrainian Cup of the 2016/2017 season, “Ruhiv” stopped in the second preliminary round, when they lost to Kyiv “Arsenal” (2:3) in a home match due to a very controversial refereeing (disallowed goal against the guests). Under the leadership of head coach Roman Gdański, the team played 19 games (15 wins, 1 draw, 3 losses). Ruslan Mostovy led “Ruh” in 15 matches of the season (9 wins, 4 draws, 2 losses). They were actively helped by the experienced specialist Oleksandr Ivanov and the entire coaching staff of the club.
“Ruh” debuted in the First League on July 15, 2017, with a victory over “Kolos” from Kovalivka (1:0). Volodymyr Zastavny scored the only goal in this historic match with a beautiful shot. According to the results of the season, “Rohivtsi” finished in 7th place (34 matches, 14 wins, 9 draws, 11 losses, goal difference – 36-30, 51 points). Viktor Khomchenko became the best scorer of the team – 6 goals (according to the “Goal” + “Assist” system – 11 (6+5). In the match of the first preliminary round of the Ukrainian Cup of the 2017/2018 season, “Ruh” defeated “Chaika” from Petropavlovsk on the road Borshchagivky (2:0). And again, like a year ago, was eliminated from the competition at the stage of the second preliminary round. This time the cup path of the team from Vynnyky was blocked by “Girnyk-Sport” from Horishni Plavni – a draw in regular time 1:1 and the victory of the guests Bohdan Markevich Stadium in extra time – 3: 1. Ruslan Mostovy worked as the head coach for 7 matches in the season (2 wins, 5 losses), Volodymyr Mazyar led the Vynnyky team for 16 games (5 wins, 7 draws, 4 losses), Andriy Kikot was at the helm of the team for 13 matches (8 wins, 2 draws, 3 losses). “Ruh” played the first match of his second season in the First League on July 21, 2018 and lost at home to “Dnipro-1″ ” (1:3). In the summer-autumn part of the championship, the team played 16 matches (2 over may, 5 draws, 9 defeats, goal difference – 12-27, 11 points). The list of games does not include the home victory over “Cobra” (2:1), because the Kharkiv team was later officially removed from the competition, and the result was annulled. In this way, Vynnyky football players went to spend the winter in 13th place. In the Cup of Ukraine of the 2018/2019 season, Rohivtsi started immediately from the second preliminary round. And traditionally, they stopped at this stage, losing in Belozirya to the second league “Cherkashchyna-Belozirya” (1:3).
Andrii Kikot led the yellow-black team during 9 matches (1 win, 1 draw, 7 losses) (including the game with “Cobra”), then the team was managed by the coaching staff headed by Vitaly Romanyuk and Roman Manorik (2 draws) , Yuriy Wirt worked with “Ruh” for 7 matches (2 wins, 2 draws, 3 losses).
On February 1, 2019, Ruh got a new leader. The responsible mission of leading the club was entrusted by the president of the “yellow and black” Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy to the well-known Belarusian specialist Leonid Kuchuk. The results were not long in coming: in the 12 matches of the 2018/19 season, “Rovhov” won 6, drew 5 times and lost only once. 23 points out of 36 possible – according to the results of the second part of the championship, this is the second result of the First League. “Ruh” finished the season in 11th place. His wards Kuchuk summed it up with a super convincing victory in the last round against Sumy – 10:1. By the way, it was only the second time in the history of the First League when a team scored 10 or more goals in one game. This happened as far back as 1995.
CLUB REBRANDING AND MOVE TO Lviv
July 24, 2019 is the starting point in the history of the renewed “Movement”. On this day, the club from Vynniki made several sensational statements at once: the first – Ihor Dedyshyn – from now on the general director, the second – the team is moving to Lviv and changing its emblem.
The new emblem of the club is designed to position the football players of “Movement” as warriors with a strong character and invincible spirit, a team of defenders of the values, principles and beliefs of the Galician region and the glorious city of King Danylo.
The new logo of the football club “Ruh” (Lviv) is an abstract symbol of five yellow stripes, which evokes many associations, such as a shield, a scratch from claws, a lion’s mane, a knight’s mask, etc. The original emblem is made in the style of minimalism, which is currently in trend all over the world. The creators of the logo are the Ukrainian design group “Brendari” from Ivano-Frankivsk, which has been working on the graphic design market since 2007.
