Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy helped prepare Ukrainian gymnasts for the FISU World University Games – they won medals!

The Ruh football club and its founder, Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, actively develop various areas in sports training and invite various athletes to join their sports community. Starting from the autumn of 2022, rhythmic gymnasts training has been conducted at the Emily Resort sports complex. Recently, these talented girls returned from China, where they achieved impressive results at the FISU World University Games.

One of the most prominent gymnasts is Khrystyna Pohranychna, a Master of Sports in rhythmic gymnastics, a finalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and a young athlete from Lviv. She impressed with her performance, winning three valuable medals. Khrystyna took first place in the individual exercise with a ribbon, as well as in the individual exercise with a hoop. In addition, she won a silver medal in the overall standings at the individual championship.

“We have been preparing for this competition for a long time because this year it was one of the most important races. Therefore, we started preparing for it back in the winter. The Emily Resort sports complex has the most comfortable conditions and it is convenient for us to train here. In Lviv and in Ukraine as a whole, there are few venues where you can prepare like this, so we are very grateful that we managed to agree on cooperation with the FC Ruh and share the territory of the sports complex with them. Due to some organizational issues, in particular with visas, we could have missed the tournament altogether. It is also physically difficult to prepare. In China, we already felt the difficulties due to acclimatization and time zone changes. However, we managed to demonstrate an impressive result, and are very pleased with it,” shared her impressions Khrystyna Pohranychna.

The team of Marta Borys and Anastasia Ptashnyk also won silver medals in group in the all-around exercises. At the same time, the girls won bronze medal in the five-hoop exercise.

“We feel very comfortable training at the Emily Sports Complex because it has very good conditions for training athletes. Especially in rhythmic gymnastics, there are certain criteria for the place of training, and here everything was as it should be. Our work was not in vain and we were able to win medals at FISU World University Games. We went to China to represent Ukraine and achieve a good result, so we are glad that we succeeded. Personally, it was my first time flying to China and it was a very difficult and long journey. But overall, I liked everything and I can say that my dream came true – to win medals at such serious competition,” said Marta Borys.

According to Iryna Ruda, the Honored Rhythmic Gymnastics Coach of Ukraine, the girls trained for more than six months at the Emily Resort sports complex and were preparing for the FISU World University Games, a competition in which only students participate.

“Of course, it was a challenging preparation process because in addition to the stresses, there were also moments that arise due to the war in Ukraine – air alarms, stress, anxieties. But the girls coped and I am very pleased with the result they demonstrated. It was not easy: a difficult road, a long flight, the time zone difference – all this affected the athletes. The girls performed admirably and represented Ukraine at the highest level,” said Iryna Ruda.

The Ruh Football Club positions itself as a sports hub since it has already integrated a wide range of different sports. The club is happy to provide an opportunity for everyone who wants to play sports both professionally and at the amateur level.

“Thanks to the idea of the founder of the Ruh football club Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, the training centre has created conditions for training athletes of different levels and different sports. We are part of the sports community, so the club always responds to requests for help from the other athletes. All our resources and capabilities are directed at popularizing sports and creating opportunities people to improve their health. In particular, we are happy to be able to help local gymnasts, who, we hope, can become Olympic champions in the future and make a name for themselves on the international stage,” said Ihor Dedyshyn, CEO of FC Ruh.

He added that the club invites representatives of other sports to its training center. Yes, Ruh already has certain agreements with wrestlers, track and field athletes and biathletes.

“In general, in addition to football, we host competitions in futsal, floorball, basketball, and various charity tournaments, featuring different types of sports. We have received requests for cooperation from track and field athletes and wrestlers. There is a possibility that soon the national wrestling team of Ukraine may hold its training camp on the sports complex’s premises. There is also an ongoing dialogue with representatives of the Biathlon Federation. And we invite representatives of various sports to collaborate,” Ihor Dedyshyn concluded.
