The founder of FC Ruh, Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, congratulated the team on their historic victory in the 1/8 finals of the Vbet Cup of Ukraine. “The Yellow and Blacks narrowly defeated Karpaty at the Lviv Arena and made it to the quarterfinals of the tournament for the first time in their history.
The match, which took place on the 13th anniversary of the opening of the Lviv Arena, ended in a 1-0 victory for Ruh. The decisive goal was a powerful long-range shot by Denys Pidhurskyi in the 79th minute of the match.
“Today everything fell into place! Lviv is yellow and black today!” Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy emotionally reacted to the victory.
The club’s founder especially thanked the team, coaching staff, club employees, fans and defenders of Ukraine for their support and dedication to the club.
During the match, the teams created many chances. In the first half, Ihor Krasnopir and Yevhen Pastukh had dangerous chances, and Ruh goalkeeper Dmytro Ledviy saved the team after Ocheretko’s dangerous shot. The second half of the match was dominated by the Yellow and Blacks. Oleh Fedor and Oleksiy Sych had their chances, but the match was decided after a powerful shot by Denys Pidhurskyi.
