On July 12, 2025, Ruh football club turned 22 years old. This date is not just a reason to celebrate, but also a great opportunity to look back at the journey we have made, celebrate our achievements, thank those who have been there for us, and once again make sure that Ruh has become more than just a football club. It is an idea, a community, a platform for youth development, and at the same time a symbol of faith in the future of Ukrainian football.
From Vynnyky to the UPL: a journey of two decades
It all started modestly: On July 12, 2003, an amateur team was formed in the town of Vynnyky, bringing together people who were passionate about football. Thanks to the support of the club’s president, Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, and the dedicated work of the management, coaches, and players, Ruh gradually climbed the ranks of the football hierarchy – from regional tournaments to the First League, and later to the Ukrainian Premier League.
Today, FC Ruh is a full-fledged member of the elite division, known not only for its results on the field but also for its unique vision of the club’s development. The main feature is the emphasis on youth. At a time when many clubs are looking for “quick fixes” in the transfer field, Ruh is building its future on trust in youngsters.
Academy is the heart of the club
One of the biggest achievements over these 22 years is the creation of a powerful football academy. Today, the Ruh Academy is considered one of the best in Ukraine, and its students are increasingly attracting the attention of national teams of all ages.
The 2024/2025 football season was extremely successful for the club’s youth teams. The team born in 2010 stood out as it won the DUFL Winter Cup and the DUFL Championship. The boys born in 2008 became silver medalists, and the players born in 2011 won bronze.
However, the success in Ukraine is not limited to success in Ukraine. The pupils of the Ruh Academy successfully represent the club in the international arena, defending the colors of national teams in different age categories. They become ambassadors of the club abroad and demonstrate a high level of training, character and football intelligence.
A new round: Academy of the Future in Vynnyky
In 2025, the club started another important stage in its development – the construction of a modern Academy complex in Vynnyky. The future complex will be located on the territory of the Bohdan Markevych Stadium and will become home to hundreds of young talents.
The project includes not only football fields, but also modern infrastructure for training, accommodation and rehabilitation of young men. This is an investment not only in sports success, but also in the holistic upbringing of a young person. This is where the future leaders of Ukrainian football should be formed.
Supporting the Armed Forces is an integral part of the club’s DNA
Among all its achievements, Ruh does not forget about the most important thing – the freedom and security that our military defend. The club has always clearly and openly supported the Armed Forces of Ukraine and all its defenders. Providing assistance, charity matches, humanitarian initiatives – all of this is implemented by Ruh with sincere gratitude and faith in victory.
This position unites everyone – from players to management, from coaches to fans. We don’t just play football – we support those who enable us to do so every day.
